Lead Hand
About the Role
Franklin General Contracting is looking for a Lead Hand to run day-to-day execution for an assigned crew — assigning and checking daily tasks, coordinating subs, and keeping the Site Supervisor informed in real time. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can run a crew, not just work on one.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign and check daily tasks for an on-site crew
- Coordinate subcontractors and crew scheduling for the week ahead
- Inspect completed work for quality before sign-off
- Run weekly toolbox talks and safety walks for the crew
- Maintain accurate JobTread documentation (daily logs, task tracking)

Skills & Experience
- Prior experience leading a crew or working as a foreman/lead hand on residential or light-commercial sites
- Strong carpentry background — comfortable framing, finishing, and reading drawings
- Able to make on-the-spot decisions and solve problems without waiting for direction
- Full set of tools and reliable transportation
Compensation
- $37.00–$40.50/hour, based on experience
- Full-time — Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry and Cornwall, Ontario area
- Defined path to Site Supervisor, with a leadership role in a growing, family-run design-build company.
